# How do I open Mixroadie in REAPER?

Open your project in REAPER and press Cmd+Ctrl+M on a Mac or Ctrl+Shift+R on Windows. The Mixroadie panel opens inside REAPER.

Updated 28 October 2026

Mixroadie is a panel inside REAPER, not an app you open on its own and not a plugin on a track.

1. Open REAPER with the song you want to work on.
2. **Save the project.** Mixroadie reads the saved project file.
3. Press **Cmd+Ctrl+M** on a Mac, or **Ctrl+Shift+R** on Windows.

The panel opens. Dock it wherever you like, and REAPER remembers where.

## Open it from the Action List instead

1. In REAPER, choose **Actions ▸ Show action list**.
2. Type **mixroadie** in the filter box.
3. Select the Mixroadie panel and press **Run**.

To open it with one click, drag that action onto a REAPER toolbar. To give it a different key, select it and press **Add…**.

## Closing and reopening it

Closing the panel doesn’t stop Mixroadie: pressing the shortcut again brings the same panel back. If an older REAPER asks what to do about the Mixroadie script that is already running, choose **New instance** and tick “Remember my answer”. Never choose “Terminate instances” while Mixroadie is applying changes.

Nothing happens when you press the shortcut? See [The shortcut doesn’t open the panel](https://mixroadie.com/help/shortcut-does-not-work/).

Still stuck?

Write to us with your computer (Mac or Windows and its version), your REAPER version and what you see. A screenshot helps.
