How do I install Mixroadie on Windows?
Run the installer, get past the Windows warning once, then open Mixroadie from the Start menu and press Install.
Updated
Mixroadie runs on Windows 10 and 11 (64-bit) with REAPER 6.83 or newer. Windows on ARM needs Windows 11 and runs Mixroadie under x64 emulation. 32-bit Windows is not supported.
- Quit REAPER. The installer sets up the Mixroadie panel and its keyboard shortcut in REAPER, and the shortcut can’t be added while REAPER is open.
- Download Mixroadie for Windows.
- Keep the file. Edge may say the file “isn’t commonly downloaded”. Click ⋯, then Keep, then Show more ▸ Keep anyway. Chrome may ask with a single Keep button.
- Run the installer. Windows shows “Windows protected your PC”. Click More info, check the file name is the Mixroadie installer, then click Run anyway. See Why does Windows warn me about Mixroadie?
- Open Mixroadie from the Start menu and press Install. It takes about two minutes, finds REAPER and sets Mixroadie up in it.
What the installer asks
- Help improve Mixroadie: an optional box for anonymous usage statistics. It starts unticked.
- Where the AI runs: on your PC, in the cloud with your own API key, or through your Claude or ChatGPT app. You can also decide later. See Which AI model should I choose?
- Your licence: start the free trial with your email address, paste a licence key, or press Later.
What it installs
No admin password and no system software. Everything stays in your own user folder. Mixroadie appears in the Start menu and under Settings ▸ Apps like any other program.
If the install can’t download the parts for the built-in AI model (no internet, for example), it still finishes without that model. Run it again later to add it.
Next
Open Mixroadie in REAPER with Ctrl+Shift+R.
