Why does Windows warn me about Mixroadie?

The Windows download isn't signed with a paid certificate yet, so Windows warns once. Click More info, then Run anyway.

Updated

Windows warns about every app that isn’t signed with a Microsoft-recognised certificate, and Mixroadie’s Windows download isn’t signed yet. You only see the warning on the first install. Updates come through Mixroadie’s own panel and don’t ask again.

Getting past “Windows protected your PC”

  1. Click More info under the text. Don’t press “Don’t run”.
  2. The box now shows the file name and “Unknown publisher”. Check the file is the Mixroadie installer you downloaded from mixroadie.com.
  3. Click Run anyway.

No “Run anyway” button, or “Smart App Control blocked”

Windows 11 with Smart App Control turned on blocks every unsigned app, with no way past it. We won’t ask you to turn that off. Write to us, and we’ll tell you when the signed version is out.

Your antivirus deleted the file

Some scanners flag new unsigned installers by mistake. Don’t turn your antivirus off. Write to us with the scanner’s name and we’ll report it.

The Mac download doesn’t have this problem: it is signed and notarised by Apple.

Still stuck?

Write to us with your computer (Mac or Windows and its version), your REAPER version and what you see. A screenshot helps.
