Does Mixroadie work on an Intel Mac?
Yes, everything except the built-in AI model. Use a free local AI app such as LM Studio or Ollama, or a cloud AI, instead.
Updated
Mixroadie works on an Intel Mac, with one exception: the built-in AI model needs Apple Silicon. Everything else (mixing, mastering, timing, tuning, the health check) works the same.
Choosing an AI on an Intel Mac
Pick one of these instead of the built-in model:
- LM Studio or Ollama, free apps that run an AI model on your Mac. Nothing leaves your computer.
- A cloud AI such as Claude or ChatGPT, with your own API key. It costs about one to two cents per song. See Where do I get an API key?
- Your Claude or ChatGPT app, on the plan you already pay for. See Can I use my Claude or ChatGPT subscription?
Until you pick one, the panel says that no AI is chosen yet. More in Which AI model should I choose?
Installing it
The Mixroadie app on the download page needs Apple Silicon, and says so when you open it on an Intel Mac. Intel Macs install with a separate install script that sets up everything except the built-in model. Write to us and we’ll help you install it.
Still stuck?
Write to us with your computer (Mac or Windows and its version), your REAPER version and what you see. A screenshot helps.
